LGSA MARINE has been formed to provide the maritime world with the best professional expertise founded on almost 150 years of continuous service and equipped with up to date and advanced technologies.

As a knowledge based learning organisation, we are always striving to improve our expertise in this field. The aggregate surveying experience of our senior surveyors is over 300 years. Specialists are available to undertake a comprehensive range of surveys and investigations globally.

It is not only with sea borne cargoes that our expertise is sought. The advent of multi-modal transport has led to an ever-increasing involvement in CMR, GIT, Container and Trailer surveys.

Our reporting systems are already based in IT. Information Technology has become the catalyst for progressive changes that have taken place in our organisation. More importantly, it has enabled us to provide our customers with "added value" by improved services.

Customers have found that an investment in pre-shipment surveys as a loss prevention exercise is a good investment and as such, a change in emphasis has meant that our surveyors have become increasingly involved in pre-shipment surveys. GENERAL AVERAGE

The acknowledged expertise of our surveyors in this field has resulted in appointments throughout the world for major casualties such as fires, groundings, collisions, flooding, engine failure etc.

With changes in modes of carriage, particularly large container ships with multiple interests, we have developed a system of IT based reporting enabling rapid dissemination of information for the benefit of the average adjusters, ship owners and cargo interests.

FRESH PRODUCE AND PERISHABLES

LGSA MARINE might be a new name to those in the fresh produce and perishables trades but those who are aware of the expertise and experience of Perfect, Lambert & Co and the Liverpool & Glasgow Salvage Association, it is not. The merger has meant that there is a pooling of resources and expertise to the advantage of our customers.

Whether transported by land, sea or air, our expertise covers all nature of perishables, from traditional produce through to exotics and nursery stock. Our surveyors are currently involved in a wide variety of cases, for customers including importers, shippers, insurers and P&I Clubs. Typically, these concern both quality and transit problems.

LEGAL AND LIABILITY

With the wealth of experience and the knowledge our senior surveyors have, we are increasingly sought as Expert Witnesses on cases concerning Cargoes, FD&D, Collision and Grounding Damage.

The depth of knowledge shared by our staff, the spread of offices throughout the UK and overseas, and the strength of being so long established means that our customers can rest assured that by selecting LGSA MARINE as their expert, they will receive the best advice and information.

We also undertake investigations on behalf of Liability Insurers of Dockyards, Stevedores and Freight- Forwarders and with the multiplicity of skills available in the new organisation, we have the ability to provide a value added service to our customers.

Sales of distressed parcels can be arranged through the offices of the Selling Brokers Marsales Agencies Limited, who act as agents for the vendor.

The brokerage has built-up a substantial catalogue of both general and specialist buyers and are proficient in "Salvage Sales" of all sizes, either by Private Treaty or Sealed Tender. "Conditions of Sale on request."
